The SMARTA project coordinated by MemEx, is selecting some key pilots  in different European Countries with the aim to investigate strategies and proposals of interventions to improve accessibility in rural areas. One of the selected site is represented by the rural areas around the Italian municipalities of Piombino and Grosseto, in Tuscany region. The pilot will focus on some of the transport services targeted to students and workers in which CELSO, a system to monitor the efficiency of the service, will be implemented. The pilot will be operated by Tiemme, the public transport operator serving these areas, in collaboration with MemEx. The first meeting took place on January 30th at Tiemme headquarters in Grosseto, attended by MemEx technicians and Tiemme operators.
