The concept of Smart City has started emerging in the past recent years with the introduction of specific policy and directives by the European Union and by national governments. A Smart City is a city that \u201cperforms\u201d well and is capable of answering citizens\u2019 needs about urban quality: reduction of energy consumption and pollution, social cohesion, health, good administration and the accessibility and quality of the services of mobility and transport.
\nThe most attractive European and non-European cities demonstrate that there can be no \u201csmart\u201d cities without a \u201csmart\u201d mobility. This has to be based, on the one hand, on an effective cooperation among the various mobility services (co-modality), and on the other \u2013 more important \u2013 on efficient, reliable, extensive and high-quality collective transport services.
\nA \u201cSmart City\u201d, in our opinion, is not a model all cities should stick to, but rather an opportunity to deeper investigate the needs and requirements of a city, so as to better support the design, realisation and integration of the most effective solutions and most suitable services to meet citizens\u2019 demands.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row element_id=”36941″ css=”.vc_custom_1624610790906{padding-top: 24px !important;padding-bottom: 48px !important;}”][vc_column animation_delay=”0″ css_animation=”fadeIn” element_id=”683972″ crp=”374:0:0,375-767:0:0,768-1023:0:0,1024-1279:0:0,1280-1599:i:i,1600-1919:i:i” offset=”vc_col-lg-12 vc_col-md-12 vc_col-xs-12″]
