For over 20 years MemEx has been providing service engineering to Local Authorities (Town Councils, Regional and Provincial Authorities) and public transport companies. In detail, the services comprise analysis, benchmarking and planning of technologically-advanced systems for the definition, management and evaluation of the entire public tender procedure, for the supervision of works, the testing and the operational launching of ICT/ITS systems for public transport services for the city and the metropolitan areas.
As regards sustainable mobility, public/collective transport, logistics and Intelligent Transport Systems, MemEx performs the following activities:
• process analysis, identification of user requirements and the operational scenarios of support, “make or buy” economic evaluation analysis, critical analysis of the state of the ITS market, with identification of the technologically and economically most convenient solutions in relation to the user’s requirements, technical/economic adequacy analysis etc.;
• definition of system architecture and of the operational functions and scenarios of the service most appropriate to the identified objectives and requisites;
• definition and management of the tender process and the related contract phase (technical specifications, tender specifications, evaluation of the technical offers, choice and negotiation, definition of the contract etc.);
• works management, phase validations, testing and certifications, operational launch and performance evaluation;
• system engineering in the operational control phase;
• definition and monitoring of the maintenance procedures and respective indices;
• knowledge transfer, best practices and professional training.

MemEx has undertaken over the years in a number of research and development at both Regional and European level.
